As a seasonal fish-plant worker at a centuries-old family business in Bay of Islands, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, I find time now and again to, particularly during the winter, work on this website, which is essentially a hobby tourism and rural lifestyles promotion. I would travel more could I afford it, what with all my other time-consuming vices. Traveling and photography are passions I would like to someday pursue on a regular basis. I grew up in the outport Town of McIvers and therefore love the contrast between the surrounding hilly landscapes and its changing seascapes, as found evident in the pictures on my Photo Pages and in the images on this page. Although I don't photograph them much, my family, near and scattered, along with this place where I have chosen to spend my life, nearly all 50 odd years of it, are all that I am. Odd works. - 30 - |

About Travel (if you do) Photography
Tips compliments of our 1colony friends: As you must, you may find travel photography exciting as your pictures turn out, but disappointing when the colors and photos are not close to what you actually saw. To be a good travel photographer, make sure you always have your camera ready, store it well, and keep extra film (if you still use that technology) and a copy of your camera receipt with you (for customs). Also, include people for interest, but don't pose them in front of landmarks or buildings. When taking landscape pictures, include some of the foreground to add depth to the pictures. Consider taking pictures of signs (e.g., Welcome to Luxor) because they always add good titles, chapters, or divisions in the story of your travels.
